It's pretty amazing ...
Chronic Disease and it's root-causes are in the news in a big way.
It seems everyone is talking about it.
One sign of that increased awareness is that THE ECONOMIST Magazine which is typically pro business, pharma, etc. wrote a set of articles in their weekend edition about "Why ultra-processed foods are bad for you."
On one hand its almost funny how they phrase it:
"Scientists are learning why ultra-processed foods are bad for you ... A mystery is finally being solved ... The food industry argues that the real problem is the excess salt, sugar and fat in these nibbles, not the processing as such ... although the science is not settled, steering clear of ultra-processed foods could be a wise, if not always easy, way to keep those healthy-eating resolutions."
😂 Its not a mystery at all, the science is clear, and it's just common sense ...
What I do agree with it the notion that it's really difficult for pretty much everyone to stay away from ultra-processed foods, toxic chemicals, and other substances known to poison our digestive system and brain.
Hence, why physicians, healthcare providers, and health coaches worldwide need to become experts in evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine.
But providing 'just' information is not enough.
What's really needed is practicing new habits and having someone (ideally a healthcare provider ...) function as an accountability manager.
Because if improving our lifestyle habits would be easy everyone would have done it already.
We'll be launching a new program in 3 weeks addressing the issues healthcare providers face. Don't miss it.
Mark January 30 in your calendar to join our launch event.
With gratitude, 🙏🏼
