Upon completion of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Health Coaching, graduates will be able to:
Express skill in the use of language, listening, and presence as a way to help clients develop awareness and understanding of their own goals, values, and motivations, and develop action plans to bring about behavioral change.
Demonstrate the practical and evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine Coaching skills needed to facilitate sustainable behavioral changes in clients.
Feel confident working with clients using the 6 pillars of Lifestyle Medicine.
Show masterful competence in using Lifestyle Prescriptions® Root-Cause Analysis & Health Coaching skills, techniques, and protocols.
Develop skills to accurately review and evaluate research literature from the fields of Lifestyle Medicine and Health/Wellness Coaching.

Degree students join two types of live practicum classes:
Monthly Lifestyle Medicine Live Practicum with a focus on Lifestyle Medicine protocols, micro-habit, and coaching skills to support patients.
3-Month Coaching Intensive Practicum (Online Live) with a focus on Root-Cause Health Coaching, PsychoSocial Stress, and advanced habit change skills.

Students will be guided through the degree study, research, and capstone writing process via:

Get M.A. Proposal approval (by LPU committee)
Research your M.A. Topic
Write your M.A. Capstone paper (45-70 pages)
After graduation, consider earning your Ph.D. Degree in Lifestyle Medicine.
Lifestyle Prescriptions® University hosts global online and local in-person graduation ceremonies. We will provide you with graduation times in advance, allowing you to plan and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The Online Graduation is typically early November in conjunction with our Lifestyle Medicine WORKS™ Awards. You will share the virtual stage with luminaries in Lifestyle Medicine. The previous awardees included:

Our Lifestyle Medicine WORKS™ Certification (LMWC) Training, which is included in the Master's Degree Program, is an NBHWC-approved health coaching school. After you complete our LMWC Certification Training (minimum 9 months), you will be able to sit for the NBHWC exam.
The NBHWC exam is valuable, especially if you practice in the US and want to be reimbursed by medical insurance.
LPU's Lifestyle Medicine WORKS™ Certification Training has been developed to align with the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine. We estimate to be fully approved by IBLM in Summer/Fall 2025. *
After you've passed and graduated from Lifestyle Medicine WORKS™ Certification Training, you may sit for the IBLM exam (to receive the DipIBLM credential).
* LMWC Certification minimum of 9 months of study before the exam can be started
* IBLM board certification is available for Physicians, Masters, and equivalent.
